Mayor Ivan Manojlović held a reception for the representatives of Twin Cities who attended the celebrations of St. Vitus Day – City Day of Kruševac. Beside the Mayor, President of City Assembly Dr. Dragana Barišić and Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković attended the reception, as well.
This year, the following twin cities of Kruševac attended Vidovdan: Râmnicu Vâlcea (Romania), Lipetsk (Russian Federation), Stara Zagora (Bulgaria), Szentendre (Hungary), Žalec (Slovenia), and Bijeljina (Republic of Srpska).

Mayor Manojlović greeted the delegation members by thanking them for honoring the festivities with their presence:
“Through Vidovdan, we celebrate and remember our ancestors so that we and future generations could continue to love and appreciate the life and freedom earned through battles spanning centuries.
This day reminds us of the most important aspects – freedom, tradition, respect, pride, memory, faith, and above all, call to peace. In times when the word “peace” has been almost forgotten and replaced by “ceasefire”. In times when stories about unity and brotherhood seem old-fashioned, but to us, they mean the world.
Our path is clear: carefully building a modern city and strong society, always with the citizens’ best interest at heart.
Kruševac is opened to cooperation in economy, culture, healthcare, sports… Our city has a vision and we are creating a welcoming space to anyone sharing that vision – partners, investors, and friends.
Let this night be one of friendship, and let the bonds between our cities and citizens grow and strengthen in the future”.

Representatives of Lipetsk focused on Kruševac’s important history and legacy, branding it a spiritual and patriotic center of Serbia:
“Today, Kruševac is a fast-developing city. On this important day, I would like to wish health and peace to you and your citizens. Make progress and develop even further, especially the bond between our two cities”.

As a token of good cooperation and support in strengthening the bonds, the Mayor was handed a Formal Acknowledgement.

The Romanian delegation relayed a message from the Mayor of Râmnicu Vâlcea:
“You are a city that respects its history, reaffirming important values. Fruitful cooperation with twin cities is one of the best paths to prosperity. We are happy to be with our brothers and sisters in Kruševac on this important day, and thank you for inviting us”.

Finally, the Delegation of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, said the following:
“It is a great honor to be here representing Stara Zagora during the festivities in Kruševac. We consider the ways you respect your history and cultural heritage, not only of your city but the whole Serbia, to be of great importance. This is my first visit to your city, hopefully not the last one, as it is a great honor to stand here”.
