As a part of Vidovdan – City Day of Kruševac, the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, held a reception for the Twin City delegations who accepted the invitation to the celebrations.
This year, the present Twin Cities were Bijeljina (Republika Srpska), Žalec (Slovenia), Ramnicu Valcea (Romania), Lipetsk (Russian Federation), and Stara Zagora (Bulgaria).
The Mayor greeted the guests, being thankful for making the events even grander with their presence, showing respect to both the City and its citizens.
“Through Vidovdan, we are reviving the memories of our ancestors, so that we, their descendents, can enjoy life and the freedom they fought for throughout history. Kruševac is a city open to cooperation, especiially with our Twin Cities, and we want to further develop and nurture this relationship, so to keep the honest and stable friendship of our cities and citizens.”, said the Mayor.
Afterwards the leaders of the Twin City delegations exchanged gifts with the Mayor, expressing their thanks for the invitations and shown hospitality.
During the Mayor’s reception of the Twin City delegations in the City Assembly Hall, the following representatives of the City were also present: the President of the City Assembly Dragana Barišić, Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković, Deputy President of the City Assembly Siniša Maksimović, Head of the City Administration Vesna Anđelić, Secretary of City Assembly Maja Cuckić and her deputy Ivana Antić, Mayor’s Aides Ana Prvanov, Snežana Aleksić, and Nevena Plavšić, Head of Municipal Police Department Dejan Ušljebrka, and Head of Inspection Affairs Department Živomir Lacić. Additionally, the City Council members were also present: Perica Janković, Miloš Ašanin, Bratislav Ilčić, and Dragan Radosavljević.
During the reception, vocal solist Jana Milanović and Music School professor Jovana Jevtić performed for the present.
After the reception, the guests attended the opening of the art exhibition “The Battle of Kosovo: Alive History of Serbia”, organized by the Military Museum of Belgrade in the National Museum of Kruševac. The exhibition was opened by the Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić.
