Minister of Youth and Sport Zoran Gajić, in front of Mayor Manojlović and numerous guests from the public and political life of Kruševac, formally opened a new beach volleyball court.
The value of the newly opened court is 18 million RSD, provided by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in collaboration with City of Kruševac.
The court will be governed by Sports Centre Kruševac, and beside volleyball, beach soccer can also be played on the court.
“City of Kruševac makes efforts to formally open important facilities annually on Vidovdan and hand it over to the citizen to use them at their leisure. From this day on, our sports infrastructure will be richer for one more court, a court for beach volleyball.
Women’s volleyball, as one of the widely played team sport in the world, is the most popular sport in the city, attracting a lot of young girls. Six volleyball clubs operate in our city, joined into Volleyball Association of Kruševac, with over 800 active young players.
This sports complex built by our city with Ministry of Public Administration and Self-Governments’ financial help will be of use to all our citizens, both the youngest ones and older ones, during these hot summer months. The court will be managed by the Sports Centre Kruševac, and this investment is worth 18 million RSD.
This is just another confirmation of the excellent cooperation and relationship the City has with the Republic Government. Many projects have been realized with their help, and hopefully, we will continue to do so in the future. Our young volleyball players will have the opportunity to test the court today, and I hope they will continue to use it in the future”, stated Mayor Manojlović.
Minister Gajić stated that sport was held in a high regard in the Government:
“This project was not an effort by the Ministry of Sport but by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government. but I have to say that a large number of Ministries immensely care about sports. When I say sports, that does not mean caring just about the current big athletes, but also about the physical education of students, physical activities for people aged 7 to 77. Hopefully, this court will be of use to future World and Olympic champions who will be worthy successors to Tijana Bošković and Maja Ognjenović”
State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Đorđe Dabić sent a positive message about the future collaboration with Kruševac: “Our Ministry allocated a huge amount of finances, we have also invested in the Sports Hall of Kruševac in the previous couple of years, 9 million RSD, in sports infrastructure, as well, in “Šarengrad” theme park, which is under the umbrella of the Tourist Agency of Kruševac. Of course, we will continue to support these types of projects, that being the policy of the Government and President Aleksandar Vučić.”
Before the opening ceremony, Minister Gajić visited skate park and outdoor gym on Old Airport site.
Beside the Mayor of Kruševac, the opening of the court was attended by the Head of City Administration Vesna Anđelić, Mayor’s Aide Nevena Plavšić, members of the National Assembly, Head of Rasina Administrative District, Director of Sports Centre of Kruševac, and many other sports lovers.
