Since January, a finansial support of the Ministry for Family Care and Demographics have been available to people with rare diseases: A one-time monetary aid per person (25.000 RSD), vouchers for medication and medical items (worth 35.000 RSD), and rehabilitation center vouchers (worth 50.000 RSD).
Official release states that, in this way, the said people and their families can get at least 110.000 RSD, and on that occasion, Minister Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski personally handed the vouchers in the City Assembly Hall of City Hall of Kruševac.
“The Ministry, as a part of its organizational system, has a Rare Disease Support Group. It is a group of great significance for us, as it treats a category of our citizens that is not usually visible by the State Administration, we did not pay adequate attention to people who carry such a big burden.”
She added that she would give her best to suggest specific initiatives that would systematically solve the problems people with rare diseases faced, as she deemed necessary for them to be recognized by law and to solve their status in society from the ground up.
Minister Đurđević Stamenkovski concluded by thanking the City of Kruševac for hosting this activitiy in the City Hall, as she had had the opportunity to meet the citizens who carry the burden and try to make their days through handing out the vouchers for spa rehabilitiation treatments, for one-time monetary aids, and for purchase of medication items in person, showing care and sympathy to them, on Vidovdan of all days.
