On November 15th, the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Mister Dejan Damnjanović, visited Kruševac and participated in a meeting with Mayor Manojlović and presidents of municipalities of the Rasina District: Brus, Aleksandrovac, Trstenik, and Varvarin.
As Director Damnjanović stated, the topics of the meeting had been related to the jurisdictions of the institution: reporting property and income, conflict of interest, new cycle of integrity plans development, ethics and integrity training, procedures ran by the Agency, et al.
Rasina Administrative District is the 20th in the visiting cycle of the Agency Director, and more than 80 local governement representatives have been introduced to the Agency topics so far.
As the Agency is of preventive nature, the goal is respecting the legal requirements, above all, the Corruption Prevention Law, Political Activity Financing Law, Lobbying Law, and others, with the aim of reducing the number of violation and criminal reports.
Additionally, the Agency needs the information about the training courses that are needed to be organized, the ones that are suited to the needs of the employees of the Local Self-Government Units.
Additionally, one of the most important activities, as stated, were the encouraging the people to report any type of corruption.
Mayor Manojlović thanked Director Damnjanović for choosing Kruševac as one of the host city, and calling the representatives of the Rasina District municipalities to participate. He highlighted that this kind of communication with the Agency was of utmost importance, and that Kruševac would continue to be an example of good practice that respected instructions, obligations of the local government representatives, and avoided breaking deadlines.
Damnjanović concluded that “it is evident that Local Self-Government Units want to establish communication with the Agency and be as transparent as possible. I expect to see the effects of this meeting in the following period, when we analyze the results and compare the state that “was” with the state that “will be” after the held meetings”.
Agency for Prevention of Corruption has opened 3 local offices in Niš, Kragujevac, and Novi Sad.
