On March 3, the foundation stone for the Regional Park of Science and Technology in Kruševac was laid in the company of the highest representative of the country’s officials on site of former adminstration building of Chemical Industry “Župa“. President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić, Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Matteo Colangeli, the Minister of Internal Affairs Bratislav Gašić, the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović, the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, and the Director of the Business Incubator of Kruševac Martina Manojlović.
Mayor Manojlović has said that the construction of the Park is of immense importance for the whole Rasina District. The park will be built on an 10000 square meter area in the Industrial Zone. The Park will contain of the main administrative building, conference hall, and 39 business modules meant for the work of technological and research-centric companies for more than 200 users. The other part will consist of fourteen 280-square meter modules. The total area of the hall spaces is 4000 square meters.
The most important aspect, said Mayor Manojlović, is the realization of the multiyear need for Kruševac and the District of Rasina to finally have a semi-open showcasing/exhibition space, in order to adequately and contemporarily present the economy, products, and services of the city and the District.
The EBRD Director, Mister Matteo Colangeli, has said that the opening of the Park is an important achievement for the innovational ecosystem in Serbia. “We are proud to be a part o this project. Through loans – we have invested 18 million euros in three Parks of Science and Technology in Niš, Čačak, and Kruševac, and financing of BIO 4 campus in Belgrade. This is a grand project for us, a grand year for Serbia, in which we invested a total of 850 million euros. For the first time, Serbia was one of the first five receipients of global EBRD innovation, a fact we are proud of. We will still support the ecosystem for innovation, as well as the ecosystem for developing young talent, as through creating chances in smaller cities further creates the opportunities for young entrepreneurs do develop in their cities.“
President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić told that 16 milion euros would be invested in the construction of the Park in Kruševac, while the construction was expected to be finished in October 2025. “Through the construction of this Park, Kruševac will practically belong to the group of cities like Belgrade, Novi Sad, Čačak, Niš, and Kragujevac, who all have a Science and Technology Park. It will be a regional park for advanced technology, for the whole district, and wider region“, said Brnabić.“We are now starting construction of one of those projects that we have promised would do to Serbia and its citizens, within the Serbia 2027 – Jump into the Future“ plan.
After the speeches, the foundation stone was laid.
The ceremony was attended by the city officials, representatives of the public and political life of Kruševac, entrepreneurs, directors of public companies and institutions, as well as a plethora of citizens.
