Two-day long traditional event within the “Vidovdan 2026” celebreations was “Knight Tournament”, held in the churchyard of Lazarica and organized by the Tourist Organization of Kruševac. The first day was concluded with the concert of “Zana”.
The goal of the event is to gather history and medieval-life enthusiasts, and to remember the medieval times and everyday life of Prince Lazar’s court when Kruševac was the medieval capital city of Serbia.
The showcase was broken down into various elements: medieval bazaar (market), children and adult workshops, archery, LARPing sessions with rubber swords, medieval children games, knight battles, horseback riding, etc.
Director of the Tourist Organization of Kruševac Nikola Despotović talked more about the importance and meaning of this event.
“Tourist Organization of Kruševac continuously works to bring back the glory of our city. We want to be in a rightful cultural and historical place through these kinds of events that have become a trademark of Kruševac”.
Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović had the honor of declaring the event formally opened:
“Welcome to the core of Serbian history – the city of holy Prince Lazar, the noble Kruševac, the most beautiful city in the world for all of us. I want to say that this Tournament is not a simple showcase of past skills but a reminder of the values that we, as Serbians, still uphold, values such as respect, honor, harmony, care about others, family, and patriotism.
We are standing on the holy ground between the old fortress and Lazarica church. These are not some slopes of old walls, these are the pages of our history”.
In the evening hours, rock-pop group “Zana” held a concert. “Zana” was formed almost 5 decades ago by keyboard player Zoran Živanović and singer Jelena Živanović.
