As a part of the Vidovdan festivities, Kruševac was the host of a session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
President of National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Đuro Macut helmed the State Wreath-Laying ceremony and paid respect to the Kosovo heroes as a part of celebrating Vidovdan and 636-year anniversary of the Kosovo Battle.
State ceremony was attended by the Ministers of the Government of Serbia, members of the Ministry of defense and Serbian Armed Forces, the representatives of the City, and numerous citizens.
On behalf of the Republic of Serbia, wreaths at the Monument to Kosovo Heroes were laid by Prime Minister Macut, and Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić.
After the wreath laying, Prime Minister addressed the gathered people.
He highlighted that everyone had to know and remember Vidovdan as the day when Serbians had put the defense of their motherland above every other particular interests, building themselves and Serbia into eternity.
“Everyone who wants to harm Serbia, deface it on this day, throw it into the dirt of seductive slavery offered from the outside, with the easy promise to the gullible that everything is better than being Serbia and Serbian, everyone who want this should know it”.
Prime Minister spoke about the importance of the Kosovo Oath, stating that its mission was not only to be remembered but also to warn, teach, and guide with an invisible hand of our ancestors toward safer and better future.
“On this day, we have to be even more steadfast than before in reminding that Kosovo Oath is actually an articulation of the ethical choice of a people who owe the historic salvation and survival to the national ethnical choice of collective rather than individual, group rather than personal, national rather than individual, in every important moment when the fate of our people was at stake”.
Prime Minister Macut added that the historic location, where the Serbian army gathered and marched toward Gazimestan and into eternity, it warns our people to avoid gifting faith to those who were calling our children to renounce their fathers and ancestors.
“Today and from here, in front of the monument to those who have written their names in the eternal Serbia, I call for fellowship and brotherhood. I call for defense of Serbia and her institutions, and I call for peace. Let the Kosovo Oath live on, as a proof of our value and our guidance toward the freedom and justice of our people. God bless eternal Serbia”, concluded Prime Minister Macut.
