The “EcoMunicipality 2025” award, organized in association with NALED, SCTM (SKGO), French Development Agency (AFD) and private companies, has the aim of awarding local self-governments and schools who through their concrete actions contribute to the environment and sustainable development. Kruševac is among the awardees.
“EcoMunicipality” is also a platform that can be used to exchange experience and practice between experts from Serbia and France in the following areas: sustainable management of waste and water, urban mobility, and energy efficiency in buildings.
Plamena Halačeva, Deputy Head of EU Delegation in Serbia, stated that EU supported Serbia in its green transition through investments and reforms in the fields of decarbonization, circular economy and biodiversity protection. She also added that engagement of schools and citizens was of great importance as they were considered one of the initiators of sustainable future.
City of Kruševac was awarded due to its achievements in water management, and on behalf of the City, Mayor’s Aide for Ecology, Energy, and Sustainable Development Ana Prvanov received the award.
