Center for Social Work in Kruševac celebrated 60 years of work with a Formal Academy in the Theater of Kruševac.
The Formal Academy was attended by the representatives of the Republic of Serbia: State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Zoran Rajović, and Acting Aide of the Minister for Family Welfare and Demography Marko Ristić. On behalf of the City of Kruševac, the Formal Academy was attended by Mayor Ivan Manojlović, Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković, Head of City Administration Vesna Anđelić, Deputy Head of City Administration Ivana Pajić, City Councilman Miloš Ašanin, Mayor’s Aide for Social Activities Snežana Aleksić, and Head of Rasina Administrative District Ivan Anđelić, directors of public institutions and companies, heads of institutions, and other representatives of the public and political sphere of Kruševac.
Center for Social Work Director Jovana Dunjić opened the Academy by thanking the people present, including the representatives of the Ministries, and employees who were and had been a part of the Center, as each and every one of them had contributed and given a part of themselves.
“Huge thank you to the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy, Ministry of Family Welfare and Demography, and our founder City of Kruševac. Everything would have been more difficult without them and their support, Center for Social Work in Kruševac would not be able to respond to all citizens’ requests, and offer high-quality social protection service”.
Mayor Manojlović congratulated the jubilee.
“It is my pleasure to be here, on the occasion of celebrating 60 years since the founding of this institution. This is one of the institutions the City of Kruševac can be proud of, taking into account that this kind of institutions do not exist in every self-government. It is an institution that, in addition to the legal and administrative procedures, offers a few kind words, which is sometimes of utmost importance. I thank you, Director, for mentioning that Kruševac is actively participating in your work. While talking in the financial sense, we will always find resources and ways of preventively acting on decreasing the number of users. We are talking about 6 decades of actively working in this field, thanks to both you, Director, and your employees who were and are an important part of your institution, and City will give its best to still participate and assist”.
Zoran Rajović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, highlighted the importance of Centers for Social Work in his speech.
“It is honor to gather here tonight for this significant anniversary, 60 years of Center for Social Work Kruševac. This anniversary is not just a simple occasion to remember previous successful achievements but an opportunity to continue the mission of providing service and support to those who are most in need of it. Center for Social Work in Kruševac became central pillar of support for many citizens, especially the most sensitive citizen groups. Services that are offered by this Center are proof of dedication and love that is poured into every act: Marriage and Family Counseling, Day Care for Children and Young with Behavioral Problems, and Personal Children Companion service. It is difficult to find the right path in this area, however, we can be proud to have worked together on creating a better and safer surrounding for our citizens. Our role in the Ministry is to secure the support and resources needed for this institution to run efficiently. I am sure that we can develope the service quality even further, and that our work can contribute and help each and every individual in fulfilling their potentials. Your dedication and effort is inspiring to us all. Thank you.”
On behalf of Ministry of Family Affairs and Demography, Marko Ristić shared information and plans of his Ministry.
“It is honor and pleasure to greet you on behalf of the Ministry. This is an important anniversary for everyone who worked in the Center for Social Work in Kruševac. We know the difficult situations you find yourselves in each day, difficult and apparently unsolvable, but your humane nature and faith in resolving problems invigorates everyone and helps in finding a joint solution. With the goal of developing Children Without Parents Protection service, developing quality of professional affair and work in all Center for Social Work, on December 6 a meeting will be held with the Minister and every director of Centers for Social Work in Serbia. The meeting will be a chance to discuss the current state in this field, in addition to presenting future activities on developing the status of children without parents, especially using adoption measures. I wish to the Center in Kruševac to be proud for working in the social protection system, and to believe in themselves and their knowledge. Again, happy anniversary, and I wish you the best in your future”.
The Formal Academy continued with Director Dunjić handing Formal Acknowledgements for Shown Support and Cooperation. Beside the local institutions, and institutions outside Kruševac, and with whom the Center had closely worked, City of Kruševac was among the recipients, on whose behalf Mayor Manojlović received the Acknowledgement.
The program continued with additional two segments: short film about the history and organization of Center for Social Work in Kruševac, and with theater performances of young actors. The multiple 10-minute long plays were based on cases of domestic violence the employees of the Center had worked on during the 60 years of its existence.
