Kruševac was hosted the annual International Hot Air Balloon festival called “Kruševac Among the Clouds”, organized by the Tourist Organization of Kruševac.
Before the official opening, the visitors had the chance to enjoy the night performance of the “Night Glow” hot air balloon group. The Director of Tourist Organization Nikola Despotović thanked the City of Kruševac and Ministry of Tourism and Youth for their continued support:
“Kruševac has become famous thanks to this festival, next to its amazing cultural and historical heritage.
We are now an important point on the tourism map of Serbia, and next year marks the 10th anniversary of this festival, which will be bigger and better.”
On behalf of the City, Mayor’s Aide for Social Activities Snežana Aleksić officially opened the 9th festival:
“It is my honor to greet you all during this festival, which put Kruševac on its deserving place at the top of tourist destinations not only in Serbia but abroad, as well.
The balloons are symbols of freedom and their ability to reach heights and broaden horizons is exactly how I would describe the desire of our city to grow and develop. Many thanks to the organizers, enthusiasts, visitors and everyone who helped and contributed to this festival in any way they were able to. Let the vivid colors of the balloons floating above Kruševac become a symbol of our openness, culture, and readiness to be a part of this world, while still striving to keep our city traditions alive and well.”
The festival program officially started with the performance of Nikola Rokvić and continued into the night with hot air ballon acts.
