From the Holiday Square to the Monument to Kosovo Heroes, citizens of Kruševac had the chance to enjoy the SAF Guard and Cavalry parade, in addition to the SAF K9 unit.
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, representatives of the local government and numerous citizens of Kruševac.along with the representatives of the self-government of Kruševac and its citizens attended the event.
One of the unique aspects of the Guard is the existence of the Army Orchestra Ensemble, who, beside fulfilling army and state protocol tasks, have actively participated in the cultural development of our people since its inception.
Cavalry unit was formed in 2018 and is mostly ceremonial, primarily involved in Military Honor events. Cavalry unit is a symbol of appreciation for the long tradition of cavalry in the history of Serbian Army and their successes in defending and freedom fighting.
The attention of the citizens of Kruševac was attracted by the K9 unit dogs from the Dog Training Centre of the Training Command, who paraded with their guides with coordination and professionalism.
The SAF Guard Drill tradition was reestablished in 2010, on the 180th anniversary of the Guard.
The Guard are highly dedicated and motivated, which was proven during their drill – egzercir, demonstrating exceptional skills in performing actions with weapons. The attractive choreography, dexterity and harmony.
Execution of the Guard Drill is very dangerous, as the semi-auto rifle used in the Drill weighs 4 kilograms, and 1,32 meters long (with the bayonet unfolded).
Since 2013, women have been included in the Guard Drill.
Around one hundred members of the Serbian Armed Forces participated in the ceremony.
In the evening, a concert performed by the Ministry of Defense Art Ensemble “Stanislav Binički”, of the most unique art ensemble of this kind with a wide array of musical performances and which distinctively represents and reaffirms the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces to the public. Helmed by the conductor Katarina Božić Veškovac, “Stanislav Binički” performed a set of popular Serbian compositions.
