Larissa Business Delegation’s Visit to Rasina District

A business delegation from Larissa was visiting Rasina District from 22nd to 25th of May. The visit was organized by the Regional Chamber of Commerce – Kruševac branch and the Regional Chamber of Commerce – Larissa branch, with the help of the Helenic Business Association of Serbia.

A business forum and a B2B event between the Rasina District companies and Larissa representatives was held during the visit in the RCC venue, in addition to a tourist and economic introductory sessions about the city, and company visits.

Director of Regional Chamber of Commerce – Kruševac branch, Maja Marković, greeted the attendees, highlighting the long-lasting friendship and partnership between Greece and Serbia.
“There are 250 opened businesses on the Serbian market, businesses that Greek finances have whole or partial stake in, and which employ over 12000 people. More than 2000 Serbian companies have business relations with Greek businesses, 150 of those are from Rasina District, which presents a good foundation for further expansion of mutual trade and investment”.
Director Marković reminded that Greek investors are especially interested in food and beverage sectors, environmental protection, and transport, while the Greek side are seeing the advantages and potential for investing in energy and renewable energy sources.
“It is encouraging to see Greek entrepreneurs showing interest in cooperating in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and technology transfer”, said Director Marković.

Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković greeted the attendees on behalf of the City.
“Through today’s meetings and the signing of Cooperation Agreement between the two Chambers of Commerce, we are building bridges of new cooperation, open new chapters in economic relatioship in order to take advantages of the potentials offered by the cities of both countries”.
Additionally, Deputy Radojković stated that these kinds of meetings, in times when cooperation and mutual understanding was more important than ever, represented a chance to not only exchange experiences and knowledge but also to open concrete possibilities for joint projects, partnerships, investments, and development initiatives. Adding that Kruševac, as the city of rich history and strong industrial tradition with economy potentials and dynamic entrepreneurship, was a reliable partner ready to cooperate.
“That is why we recognize Larissa as an ideal partner, as a city with similar structure, energy, and openness to international cooperation, with the ultimate goal of strengthening relations between Greece and Serbia”, concluded Deputy Radojković.

In 2024, export to Greece was increased by 19.4 percent, worth 356,9 million EUR, and included goods such as icecream, paper and cardboard packages, and rubber for cars. Imported goods from Greece include aluminium alloys, kerosene, oranges, concrete steel, polyethylene, and copper pipes, which shows the diversity of the exchange.

President of RCC of Larissa Giakouvis Christos used the opportunity to introduce the RCC and entrepreneurs (members of his delegation) and talk more about the potentials of his region.

Indutstry Coordinator of RCC – Kruševac branch, Aleksandra Aleksić, held the presentation of the Rasina Administrative District.

Nikolaos Sliousaregko, President of Greek Companies Association, and former President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Parliament explained that the meeting represented the first step towards the important cooperation in the fields of tourism, processing industry, agricultural and food industry, and the overall development of trade and investment relations.

Advisor to the President of RCC Larissa Skyvalidas Nikos also greeted the attendees and invited Serbian entrepreneurs to visit Larissa.

After the conclusion of the conference, the Cooperation Agreement between the two Chambers of Commerce was signed, in order to further develop the friendship and business relations between the two districts of Serbia and Greece, after which the entrepreneurship meetings between Larissa and Rasina District commenced.
