Due to the liberation of Kruševac in World War I and World War II, the Liberation Day ceremony officially started with the laying of flowers at the significant monuments in the city.
Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković and President of City Assembly Dragana Barišić laid flowers at the Russian Soldier Monument in Lazarica, along with the representatives of the Lazarica local community, primary school “Dositej Obradović” and Association “Battle Brotherhood”.
Beside the representatives of the City, Head of the Rasina Administrative District Ivan Anđelić, representatives of SUBNOR, Battle Brotherhood, Movement “Heart of Heroes”, Retiree Association “Car Lazar”, Citizen Association “Slobodište”, Ravna Gora Movement of Rasina showed respect to the executed patriots at the mounds of Memorial Complex “Slobodište”.
Within the Memorial Complex, wreaths and flowers were laid on the Monument of Fallen Members of Army, Police and Army Reserve 1991 – 1999, after which the ceremony continued at the Monument to Serbian Warriors near the Church of Saint George. Beside the aforementioned participants, other organizarions and associations related to freedom wars of Serbia took part in the ceremony.
The centerpiece event was traditionally at the Red Army Monument near the Rasina. After the national anthem and appropriate program organized by the Cultural Center of Kruševac with the aim of remembering the 80 years since the World War II liberation of Kruševac.
The delegations that participated in the ceremony were representatives of the Armed Forces of Serbia, Twin City Stavros from Greece, Army Officers Reserve, Russian – Serbian Friendship Association, political parties, retiree and other associations related to Serbian freedom wars.
