“Two of the greatest actors that graced the theater stages Milija Vuković and Marko Živić will remain in this place forever, reminding us how beautiful it is to be talented and to be from Kruševac”, said Director of Kruševac Theater Branislav Nedić on today’s reveal of Milija Vuković and Marko Živić’s sculpture busts.
“Milija Vuković poses great significance to Kruševac and his theater. He became and remained top Serbian actor who linked his whole career to Kruševac, becoming the foundation of Kruševac Theater with his artistic performances. As a man who has been a close associate for over 50 years, one can conclude: In the infinet multivoice of the creator, the voice of Milija is especially dear and close to us, by a spiritual line. In whatever space he had found himself to be, all attention was firmly set to him, being able to reconcile the irreconcilable and connect the ones impossible to connect. If that skill is characteristic of a human, then Marko was a great human being. If that be of an actor, then he was a great actor”.
Mayor Manojlović expressed honor for being able to pay respects to such grand names on Vidovdan – City Day of Kruševac, to Milija and Marko, as they would stay forever on the eternal stage.
He added that there was a certain weight, but beauty as well, as they would continue to live and make the city prettier as they had done in life, thanking them “immensively for everything they have done”.
The busts were revealed by the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović and Director of Kruševac Theater Branislav Nedić, along with Vuković and Živić’s family members.
