On May 20th, the Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, along with the President of City Assembly Dragana Barišić, the Deputy Mayor Snežana Radojković, the Secretary of the City Assembly Maja Cuckić and her deputy Ivana Antić, and the Mayor’s Aide for Social Activities Snežana Aleksić, held a reception for the participants of the 11th International Children’s Festival, which is from May 18th to 22nd, 2024.
Mayor Manojlović greeted the guests from North Macedonia and Turkiye, welcoming them and wishing them a pleasant stay in Kruševac.
“Through this festival, our students can, through fun and joyous activities, make new friends with their peers from other countries. This is an extraordinary opportunity for youngsters to learn more about different cultures, traditions, and histories. City of Kruševac will always be by their sides, support the young, and be a good host”, Mayor Manojlović stated.
The festival has been organized in Kruševac recurringly since 2013, with the idea originating from the joint effort of the teachers and students of the Primary School “Vuk Karadžić”, who attended a similar festival in Istanbul.
This year, “Vuk Karadžić” organized the festival with the help of “Branko Radićevič”, which is another primary school from Kruševac.
In the organizer’s name, the principal of “Vuk Karadžić”, Mr. Dragomir Aleksić thanked the Mayor on the wonderfully organized reception and help with the organization of the said festival, expressing sadness that the guests from Romania and Slovenia were not able to come to our city, due to private and understandable reasons. He also added that the guests would be shown the well-known cultural and historic monuments and locations of our city, wishing all participants good and fun times during their stay.
